Eyehategod are one of the few bands that pioneered the sound of modern metal and are still making albums today. Its mix of stoner metal, doom metal and sludge metal with thick and noisy production has been taken on re-worked by modern metal bands, but you can never replace the original.

Atmosphere, Zuluzuluu, Greg Grease, DJ Just Nine —The Fillmore — Monday
Come see abstract hip-hop legend Atmosphere, along with Zuluzuluu, an alternative R&B act with synth funk elements. Zuluzuluu just formed and released an album last year. Also come for Greg Grease, the rapper from Minneapolis, and a DJ set from DJ Just Nine.

Brick + Mortar — Swedish American Hall — Tuesday
See what the East Coast has to offer! Brick + Mortar are touring with its unique sound that uses samples and loops to create an electronic sensibility to its alternative rock foundation. Come to hear some new songs off its EP Dropped Again.

Electric Guest, The She’s — California Academy of Sciences — Thursday
The two-piece from L.A. is taking a little trip up north to play with Bay Area local favorites The She’s. Even if you have seen these bands before, because they do play quite often, you’ve probably never seen a show at the California Academy of Sciences. It’s sure to be a unique experience.

GZA, Sims — Slim’s — Friday
The mastermind of the legendary clan of Shaolin is back, along with Sims, a modern interpreter of ’90s conscious hip-hop movement. If you know who GZA is, you know how important, not only Enter the Wu-Tang, but Liquid Swords was for the East Coast scene, so don’t miss the chance to see a legend perform.
